March 9th: Planting is done. Thank you to all volunteers! We could not have done without you!
Would you like to help us plant 20,000 trees to create Europe's largest Miyawaki-style forest near Sugar Loaf Mountain? The Miyawaki method transforms tiny saplings into a full forest in 10 years by planting trees close together. We had already started planting it last year, and we need your help again this year.
EcoSikh Ireland, in partnership with Reforest Nation, invites you to this event. Please join our WhatsApp Volunteer group, where we post updates.
Join us in this amazing project. We have the trees, but we need your hands and a shovel. Let's create something incredible together!
What to bring:
A shovel/spade.
Warm clothes and gloves.
Boots or wellies.
A tenacious tree-planting spirit!
Feel free to bring a picnic. Light refreshments will be available.
Location:
Hawthorn Hill (A63 H364), Ballydonagh Lane, Delgany, Greystones, Co. Wicklow (Google Maps link)
Parking:
Please park at Kindlestown Wood and walk up Ballydonagh Lane. Hawthorn Hill (house entrance) will be the 4th house on the left-hand side leading to the plantation site.
Additionally, if Kindlestown Wood is full up, you can park at Hawthorn Hill (A63 H364). We recommend you drive from the East side of the Ballydonagh lane from Greystones, as the western end is rough.
